Nigerian Army record’s victory, eliminates 45 bandits in Zamfara forest

9News Nigeria reports that the Nigerian military killed 45 bandit leaders and fighters in the Zamfara forest. Members of the Nigerian military have successfully eradicated three notorious leaders of armed banditry in Zamfara State.

A targeted aerial operation conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pinpointed the hideouts of the gang leaders and their followers in Kuyanbana forest. According to an intelligence officer, approximately 45 bandits lost their lives in the airstrikes.

The commanders, along with others, were found to have gathered in various areas, including Habu Nabayye, Isuhu Sadi, and Murtala Danmaje. Local residents have reported that the continuous military offensives have resulted in a retreat of the criminals. A similar operation was carried out last week in Niger State by both air and ground units of Operation Gama Aiki (OPGA).

The NAF deployed AgustaWestland AW109 and Eurocopter EC135 gunships during the two-day assault on the bandits’ hideouts. This operation was conducted based on intelligence regarding the presence of camps in the Jasuwan Garba-Urege area of the state.
