British screenwriter and director Terence Davies, has died at the age of 77.
His manager confirmed in a statement, that he died peacefully at home after a short illness.
Davies was born and raised in Liverpool and is best known for notable films including Distant Voices, Still Lives.
He has a long list of films, his most recent being Netflix drama Benediction, which starred Slow Horses actor Jack Lowden and Peter Capaldi.
He won the Cannes International Critics Prize for Distant Voices, Still Lives – a film based on his memories of life in 1940s and 1950s Liverpool.
