President Muhammadu Buhari will make a nationwide broadcast to Nigerians on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 7am in commemoration of this year’s Democracy Day.
His special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed this in a statement issued on Monday.
“Television and radio stations are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast,” Adesina added.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had earlier advised Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) not to address Nigerians during the 2018 Democracy Day.
PDP stated that in the last three years, such addresses had contained deceits, falsifications and unfulfilled promises.
