Cape Verde has achieved a historic milestone, qualifying for its first-ever FIFA World Cup after a commanding 3-0 victory over Eswatini in their final qualifiers on Monday October 13 2025.
Goals from Dailon Livramento, Willy Semedo, and Stopira sealed the win, booking Cape Verde’s ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

With this feat, the Island nation becomes the second smallest country ever to qualify for the World Cup, following in the footsteps of Iceland in 2018.
Cape Verde topped Group D with an impressive 23 points from 10 matches, recording seven wins, two draws, and just one defeat – a remarkable campaign for a nation fewer than six hundred thousand people.
