Founder and President of the Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, has declared that no truly wealthy person trivializes the value of money.
Speaking during a recent engagement, the billionaire entrepreneur stated, “Tell me, have you ever heard any wealthy man say ‘money na water’? I haven’t. Not Tony Elumelu. Not Femi Otedola. Not even me.”
Maduka, who is renowned for building one of Nigeria’s most successful indigenous conglomerates, emphasized that the rich understand and respect the principles of value creation, financial discipline, and resource management, attitudes that separate them from those who take wealth lightly.
The remark has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians reflecting on the cultural phrase “money na water” often used to suggest that money is easily spent or replenished.
Maduka’s statement, however, simplifies his long-held belief that wealth is sustained by diligence and a deep respect for the process of making money.
