The Priest of St. Columba Catholic Church, Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Council of Imo State, Rev. Fr. Joseph Enyinnaya, has been arrested for allegedly shooting a teenage boy dead after he threw knockouts in the Church premises.
This happened during the New Year Mass held at the Church in Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
Enyinnaya is now helping the the State Police Command to unravel the facts surrounding the death of gunshot victim in the community.
Confirming the development in a statement, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr Henry Okoye said “Yes. A detailed Investigation has been initiated to ascertain the remote facts surrounding the incident.
“Further Investigation has been initiated to ascertain the remote facts surrounding the incident.
“Further development on the case will be communicated on due course please”.
However, the incident has left the community in shock and mourning, with residents expressing outrage and demanding a thorough Investigation to uncover the facts behind the unfortunate incident.
