Comparing Me to Portable Is Disrespectful – Terry G

Nigerian singer and producer Terry G has spoken out against comparisons between himself and controversial street-hop artist Portable.

“Comparing me to Portable is disrespectful because I actually have music people listen to 10 years later,” Terry G said on Today.

The comment quickly went viral, interpreted by many as a direct response to online debates and social media posts linking the two artists due to their unconventional styles.

Terry G, known for his high-energy performances and chaotic charisma during the height of his career, was a dominant force in the Nigerian music industry in the late 2000s and early 2010s with hits like Free Madness, Akpako Master, and Run Mad.

His influence on street music have kept many of his songs relevant over a decade later.

Portable, who rose to fame in late 2021 with his breakout single Zazoo Zeh, has drawn attention not only for his music but also for frequent controversies and run-ins with the law.
