James Earl Carter Jr., American politician and a member of the Democratic Party, born October 1, 1924, previously served from 1963 -1967 in Georgia State Senate and became the 76th Governor of Georgia from 1971-1975.
Carter was elected as the 39th President of the United States of American from 1977-1981.
Carter is regarded as the longest-lived President in US history and the first to live to 100 years.
