President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended his deepest condolences to the United States government and its people on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, who died at 100 on Sunday December 29, 2024.

Carter, the 39th US President, was renowned for its selfless service for humanity, showcasing the profound impact of dedication that transcended his Presidency.

Tinubu praised Carter’s commitment to tackling global challenges and described him “as a trustworthy and compassionate friend to Nigeria”.

James Earl Carter Jr., American politician and a member of the Democratic Party, born October 1, 1924, previously served from 1963 -1967 in Georgia State Senate and became the 76th Governor of Georgia from 1971-1975.

Carter was elected as the 39th President of the United States of American from 1977-1981.

Carter is regarded as the longest-lived President in US history and the first to live to 100 years.
