CONCERNS ABOUT THE WELFARE OF YOUNG DETAINEES ON CHARGES RELATED TO THE RECENT NATIONWIDE PROTESTS
The attention of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development has been drawn to reports about the condition of young people who were presented in court this morning over charges related to the most recent nationwide protests.
The Ministry is engaging with the Ministry of Interior with a view to ascertaining the facts of the situation and improving the welfare of the young people being held, not just in relation to this case, but in custodial centres across the country.
Please rest assured of the Ministry’s commitment to safeguarding youth interests and the welfare of young Nigerians, wherever they may be.
