Court remands couples for allegedly stealing neighbors’ shoes

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan has on Thursday remanded young couples in custody for allegedly stealing of footwears valued at N25,000.

The accused persons, Adefola oyediji (22) and Sunday Oyediji (25) were docked on a 4-count charge, bothering on conspiracy, stealing and felony.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Omidiji Tunde, the accused persons conspired among themselves to commit the offence on the 1st of April, 2018 at about 9.30 pm at 18, Okebola Street, Dugbe area of Ibadan.

He informed the court that items allegedly stolen accordingly by the suspects include three Pam sandals, two sneakers, and one office shoe.

He said the offence contravened sections 390 (9) and 412 of the Criminal Code Cap, 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo 2,000.

The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the 4-count charge.

Presiding Magistrate subsequently ordered that the accused persons be remanded in custody and adjourned the case to 4th of May, 2018 for hearing.
