A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Alhaji Yisa Ismaila Adebayo, popularly known as OMO-ADE, has successfully mobilised and welcomed over one hundred and fifty members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and other political parties into the APC.

The mass defection took place on Thursday, December 19, 2025, at an APC ward meeting in Ward 16, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, where the new members were formally presented to party leaders and faithful.

Leading the defectors into the party, OMO-ADE described the development as a clear indication of the growing acceptance of the APC at the grassroots level. He said the decision of the defectors to join the ruling party was driven by their belief in the party’s ideology, leadership structure and commitment to good governance.

In a gesture aimed at strengthening internal communication and organisation within the party, Alhaji Adebayo donated a large megaphone to the ward executives and members to enhance effective communication during meetings and party activities.

Addressing the new members, OMO-ADE admonished them to remain loyal and disciplined, urging them to strictly abide by the constitution of the All Progressives Congress. He warned against any form of anti-party activities, stressing that unity, loyalty and commitment are essential for the progress of the party.

He assured the defectors that the APC is a party that rewards loyalty and dedication, adding that members who remain faithful and law-abiding would benefit from the “dividends of democracy” as the party continues to consolidate its governance agenda.

Party leaders present at the meeting welcomed the new members with enthusiasm, describing the mass defection as a boost to the strength of the APC in Abeokuta North and Ogun State at large. They pledged to fully integrate the new members into the party structure and encouraged them to participate actively in party affairs.

The event ended with a show of solidarity, chants of party slogans and renewed commitment by members to work collectively for the growth and success of the APC in the state.
