The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has postponed its planned National Council on Agriculture and Rural Development earlier slated to hold between Wednesday, 16th and Friday, 18th December, 2020 at the National Conference Centre, Abuja.
The Council with the theme: “Nigeria’s Agriculture and Food Security in the Face of Covid-19, Floods and Insecurity” was postponed due to upsurge of Covid-19 cases across the country, in particular at the Federal Capital Territory.
In his words, the Hon. Minister explained that “there is the need to observe the necessary protocols against conducting a super speeder event which can lead to exposure and transmission at the meeting”.
While expressing regrets for the inconveniences the postponement might have caused the Ministry’s numerous stakeholders, he was optimistic that the event would hold in the first quarter of the year 2021
In a related release by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu said a new date will be announced immediately the coast is clear next year.
