Crisis looms in Nasarawa PDP as Court stops party congress

A fresh crisis is looming in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Nasarawa State as a state’s High Court sitting in Doma Local Government Area of the state has stopped the opposition party from conducting Congress at all levels in the state scheduled to hold on September 28, 2024 or any other date.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Abdullahi Hassan Shams, gave the order following an ex parte motion filed by sixteen members of the embattled opposition party led by Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onowo and Suleiman Asonya Adokwe.

Other applicants of the suit (NL/LF 89/2024) are Michael Abdul, Nuhu Angbazo, Musa Elayo, Abdulkarim Usman Ombamas, Mohammed Yamusa Chindo, Adamu Iyaniki, Nathaniel Aboki, Umar Galadima, Webey Angama, Jubril Sabo Keana, Musa Bako Karshi, Mamman Sunday, Jubril Idris Ojoko and Gaza Mark Auta.

The case has been adjourned to Thursday October 3rd, 2024 for hearing.
