Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a 25% share of Spanish club UD Almería through his subsidiary, CR7 Sports Investments.
This investment marks a significant expansion of Ronaldo’s business portfolio and deepens his involvement in football beyond the pitch.
The agreement is part of the international growth strategy of UD Almería, driven by Mohamed Al Khereiji, President of the club and head of the SMC Group business holding.
Commenting on the partnership, Al Khereiji said, “We are very pleased that Cristiano has chosen to invest in our club.
“He is regarded as one of the greatest to ever play the game, knows Spanish football very well, and understands the potential of what we are building here, both in terms of the team and the academy.”
Ronaldo expressed enthusiasm about the venture, stating, “It has been a long-held ambition of mine to contribute to football beyond just on the pitch.
“UD Almería is a Spanish club with strong foundations and clear potential for growth. I look forward to working alongside the leadership team to support the next phase of the club’s development.”
This move places Ronaldo alongside other members of the club ownership consortium led by SMC Group.
