DANGER: Avoid Power Lines, Transformers, Electric Poles For Safety- Experts Warn

Following sudden deaths caused by explosives at power towers, electric poles and transformers, expert on electricity and power management has called on people living under such areas to be very careful of the dangers of such environment.

While speaking on the death of a security personnel who stepped into an incident location without proper safety kits, electric expert warned that people living under the power lines must be conscious of explosives.

He told our correspondent that electric poles and power stations when tempered or faulty or fell down without disconnection can to cause mishaps which could lead to instant death and burnt.

Recalling the death of the security personnel who stepped into the scene of a fell down power tower, the expert are calling on government to sanction people living or trading around some perimeters within the transformers , electric towers and poles with immediate effect.

In this story, was the last photo of Nurudeen, the NSCDC Personnel who stepped on Explosive at the scene of the vandalized electricity tower and died instantly as gathered by 9News Nigeria.

Speaking with an expert on electricity wiring also, Engr Dennis told 9News Nigeria that if you look critically on the photo, there was a tiny line across the path, attached to the both components on his left and the right hand sides, this must have that triggered the shock.

The NSCDC and the security agencies needed to learn from the previous incident. The attack on the power transmission line usually comes with another IED attack, he warned. They should deploy the EOD teams before giong to such scenes”

There should be scanning devices before going to the areas completely to save lives and people must desist from trading or residing under or around the Power lines, towers and electric poles.
