Football icon David Beckham is reportedly lending his celebrity chef pal Gordon Ramsay a helping hand as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The Kitchen Nightmares reality star had surgery last month (Jun16) to repair the nasty injury, which he sustained while running around with his teenage son in the garden at their family home.
And it’s claimed retired athlete Beckham, who suffered the same injury in 2010, is providing his friend with great advice on how to get back on his feet, in addition to getting the food master appointments with some of the greatest physical therapy and medical specialists in the world.
“David has already been on the phone talking through with Gordon the dos and don’ts of coming back quickly,” a source tells the New York Daily News. “(Beckham) has vowed to help him get back playing football before the end of the year. They have made a vow to be running together when they spend Christmas together.”
Gordon is an avid football fan and his Achilles tendon rupture forced him to pull out of the U.K.’s Soccer Aid charity match, held on 5 June (16), at the last minute.
And apparently Ramsay is afraid all the delicious meals he’s cooking for himself while wobbling around in his kitchen at home will see him packing on excessive weight before he is well enough again to burn the extra pounds off through cardio exercise.
“Gordon has told people that he has become hooked on exercise as he realised how his chef’s career meant he was piling on the pounds,” the insider reveals of the restaurateur’s active lifestyle prior to the injury. “Now he is worried that he may see his weight swell up again and be less active.”
