Dickson’s committee proposes solution to PDP crisis

he National Reconciliation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party chaired by the Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson, has reiterated the pursuit of a political solution as the best option in resolving the crisis dogging the party.

The committee, which said it had released the submitted report of its findings to the National Chairman of the Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, said the proposal was without prejudice to the ongoing judicial process.

The Dickson-led committee had last Tuesday submitted its report to Sheriff with a proposition that he (Sheriff) should hold a convention as soon as possible.

The committee, which also proposed that the national convention should hold before June 30, 2017, stressed the need for a template that would culminate into a unity national convention of the party.

Dickson, who read the resolution of the committee during a visit to the PDP national secretariat, Abuja, said, “We restate our commitment to the pursuit of a political solution as the best option for resolving the ongoing challenges facing the party without prejudice to the ongoing judicial process.”
