Did you know: Ryan Gosling was once fired from a movie role

Popular Canadian actor Ryan Thomas Gosling was dismissed from his role in the 2009 film “The Lovely Bones.” Despite gaining 27 kg for the part, Director Peter Jackson and Producer Fran Walsh did not share his vision for the character.

Walsh explained, “We began to feel he was not right. It was our blindness, the desire to make it work no matter what.”

Gosling later reflected on the experience, stating it was crucial for him as it taught him to manage his ego. “We didn’t talk very much during the preproduction process, which was the problem… I just showed up on set, and I had gotten it wrong. Then I was fat and unemployed.”

He added, “It was an important realization for me: not to let your ego get involved. It’s okay to be too young for a role.”

Ryan Gosling, a Canadian actor, has grossed over $2 billion worldwide in his career. He also portrayed astronaut Neil Armstrong in the movie “First Man.”
