Tuesday was like a confusion in the state, following a counter reaction by an illustrious Imo son and frontline contender in the upcoming Imo Governorship election, Dr Chima Amadi. Dr Chima sighted the scene of stranded passengers in Owerri on that fateful Tuesday morning and rushed to speak against the policy plan of Shared prosperity administration on tinted glasses without digging deep into the root cause of such commendable action taken by government.
His reaction was not only ignored but also brought his human empowerment vision board to a lower grade. As an aspirant in the Governorship contest come 2027, Chima Amadi would have heard the cries of Imolites over continued insecurity in the land which tinted buses in Owerri are used in some operations captured by Newsmen and concerned citizens who raised alarm to attracting government action.
However, Imo State government has issued an ultimatum warning those commercials drivers operating with tinted glasses to desit forthwith.
As a technocrat who’s venturing into the ship of Guber contest , he has to constructively separate governance from charity work and philanthropy because both are not in tandem with government. Philantropy and charity work are relative while governance is versed and technical.
To be very honest, Dr Chima Mathew Amadi failed on this particular step he took to condemn the crackdown of tinted glasses on commercial vehicles in Imo State as issued by government.
As an aspiring guber contestant which I think he is based on green indication, it is expected of Dr Chima Amadi to trade with deligent caution and submit himself to be managed accordingly. He should also create room for integration of technocrats and open his arms on inclusivity of managers of good policies to bring out the best in him.
Dr Amadi should not be talking from both sides of his mouth rather be more tactical and weighty on public statements. Those who advised him to condemn this policy to attract public attention have rather reduced his credibility to an unbearable LCM.
Anyway, on the other note, I never knew when he gained the name Alhaji as fondly tagged by #Mr Nwaogwugwu and co. For me, I still have some respect for my elders and Dr Amadi has to be respected too. Therefore, Ambrose be careful!
His antecedent is widely commendable and hopefully he has something good to contribute to the advancement of our dear Imo state. So, please, those tagging him Alhaji should henceforth consider to redirect their regards to Dr Chima Amadi as either Dr or Maazi
Igbos are known as Mazi and not Alhaji. Pls let’s take note. Unless otherwise, there are some iota of Alhajism in his policy plan which Imolites may like to understand.
It is not every policy of government you’ll attack. That’s the essence of good media management and image making.
The recent clampdown on tinted commercial buses is a welcome development conceived by the shared prosperity administration targetted at eradicating “one chance crime” in Owerri. It is a plus to Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration and people have to support it.
Besides, Mazi Amadi is not to be told that even yesterday, Tuesday ,the IMHA repealed the security organization law number 2 of 2021 to give a safe landing for the empowerment of security check across all the rural communities in Imo.
I don’t see any sense in rushing to the front banners of newspapers and social media outlets to talk down on this policy after several efforts by government and reports from concerned Imolites against the high rise of insecurity bedevilling Imo state, which criminals have reported using tinted vehicles to operate.
However, laws are made to check the excesses of human beings, otherwise, Imo state will remain lawless!
Every sensible Imolite is expected to support this policy while we keep condemning the excesses of money being collected from bus drivers on daily basis by taskforce agents in the name of IGR and police traffic officers on road check in the name of roja, egunje.
I come in peace!👊
