A host of dignitaries, family and well-wishers recently gathered in Owerri to celebrate the 60th birthday of Rt. Hon. Ike C. Ibe, former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.
The remarkable event, which occurred on 26th, October 2025, began with a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, followed by a grand reception at Golden Vista Hotel, opposite Ahiajoku Center.
Among the guests were former Imo State Governor Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, political associates and community leaders who hailed Ibe as a man of integrity and service.

In his tribute, former Governor Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha praised Ibe’s lifelong dedication to leadership and public service, describing him as “a champion of development, a voice for the voiceless, and a beacon of hope for many.”
Similarly, Rt. Hon. Sir Dr. Jones Onyereri, former House of Representatives member and PDP Board of Trustees member, lauded Ibe as “a statesman whose life reflects courage, service, and an unwavering commitment to the common good.”
The colourful celebration reaffirmed Ibe’s enduring influence as one of Imo State’s most respected political figures and a leader whose life continues to inspire many.
