Dr Mustapha Abdullah met with the APC Candidate for Kogi Gubernatorial Election Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo.

Last eventide, I met with my party – the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the ongoing #KogiDecides2023 gubernatorial election, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo. We had several discussions that cut across politics, governance, human capital development among others appertaining to our State – the Confluence State.During the têtê-a-têtê, I saw a man who’s ready to hit the ground running after his victory at the poll and on assumption of office. I saw a man whose mind is fixated on development of Kogi State as a whole regardless of partisan politics, tribe, colour and/or religious inclinations.We both agreed that it is time for Kogi State, being the State with the highest natural resources to take her rightful place in the scheme of things. We equally agreed that the State would collaborate with the Ministry of Solid Minerals and all other relevant stakeholders to explore and exploit these natural endowment for the growth and development of the State. Things will be done differently going forward.We are also optimistic that Kogi, having one of the largest land mass in the country with hundreds of thousands of arable land for farming has the potential to feed Nigeria through agriculture. Already, lands around Bassa Local Government are very fertile in production of grains such as rice, beans, yam and other edibles. This, the new government will take a serious look at when it finally assumes power come 2024 by God’s grace.For us as young Progressives, the development of Kogi State comes first and is paramount in our mind before personal any interest.
