Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has arrested six commissioners over alleged involvement in breach of of contract for the construction of 140 housing units in Izzo and Amaze communities.
The affected Commissioners are; Professor Omari Omaka (Tertiary Education)
Victor Chukwu (Environmental) and
Ifeanyi Ogbuewu (Culture and Tourism).
Others include; Uchenna Igwe (Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters)
Moses Ekuma (Health)
Felix Igboke (Project Monitoring)
And the Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Mr Timothy Nwach.
It was gathered that the Nigeria Police has equally issued invitation to some fleeing commissioners and contractors who were not at home at the time of the committee visit.
It was alleged that the affected commissioners and contractors are sabotaging the efforts and plan of the of the governor to commission the 140 Housing Units for Izzo and Amaze communities to mark his second anniversary in the state.
It was also alleged that some of the commissioners and contractors connected to contact are already on the run.
