Ebonyi state governor, Chief David Umahi, at the weekend said it was not something abnormal for President Mohammadu Buhari to fall sick at one time or the other as a result of pressures of office.
Umahi represented by the deputy governor, Barr Kelechi Igwe, made this known while addressing Muslim community at the exco-chambers of government house, Abakaliki. He called on them to support the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, government that has provided them with basic social amenities.
The governor noted that God was not delighted in the shedding of any man`s blood and condemned in totality the activities of Boko Haram which according him has claimed the lives of many innocent Nigerians.
He noted that Muslems are not known as trouble makers “God is not delighted in the shedding of any man`s blood, be it the blood of infidel, be it the blood of a brother, be it the blood of any human being”
Umahi called on the Muslim community not to allow themselves to be deceived by any other political party ” In Ebonyi we don`t know that opposition party exist, but if this government has done you well then you should support them,” he added.
In a remark, the leader of the Muslim community, Barr Ibrahim Obiaho said they were backing the governor to obtain over 150 billion dollars from Islamic Development Bank and African Development Bank to enable him develop the state.
Obiaho condemned the activities of IPOB, Boko Haram and other alleged terrorist groups in the country, saying that Nigeria will continue to remain United.
