The Edo State House of Assembly has summoned wife of singer 2Face Idibia, Hon. Natasha Irobosa Osawaru over a case of misconduct leveled against her.
Hon. Natasha, who represents Egor Constituency in Edo Assembly, was accused of dragging the House into disrepute following online reports of her public misconduct between herself and her husband in London recently that led to the singer’s arrest.
Speaking during the plenary on Tuesday December 2, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, said Tuface’s wife has been trending negatively in the media.
“Distinguished members, of recent, this Honourable House, with cerebral and higly educated members, have been dragged to the mud for too long by our colleague, Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru. For the past one week, she has been, let me use this word trending negatively both electronic media and social media platforms. Television such as TVC, Silverbird, and other television stations.
We want to let the public know that this House is a decent and reputable House. In Nigeria as a whole, this House is the best House. That is the truth.
But we have responsible members in this House. Intelligent members in this House. Members that know what they are doing. So the attitude or the misconduct of a member cannot drag the House to disrepute”, he said.
He said that Natasha must appear before the House Standing Committee on Ethics and Privileges within one week to defend herself with respect to the case of misconduct.
The Speaker noted that Natasha would also show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against her.
He asked the Committee to report back to the House on its findings within two weeks.
