The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) late Friday granted administrative bail to a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.
The former minister is being investigated over allegations that he secured contracts from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) worth about N4.7 billion.
Obanikoro had remained in the custody of the EFCC since he turned himself in on October 17.
As condition for his release, highly placed sources told New Telegraph that Obanikoro had returned N100 million, with an understanding that he will make a subsequent refund of N480 million.
Several calls to the EFCC’s spokesman, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, were not answered. He had yet to reply a text message sent to him as at the time of filing this report.
