The Ekiti Grassroots Movement (EGM), has declared June 12 as prayer-session rally for Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, an exercise tagged “Eleka, a Man with God”.
Speaking at the general caucus meeting held at Ado Ekiti on Monday, the local government coordinator representing the group in Ado, Hon. Obiala, suggested that it was imperative for EGM to commit the forthcoming election into God’s hands.
Obiala stated: “We need to seek favour and eternal mercy to enable us reap the dividend of continuity. We also know Olusola will emerge victorious because God has destined him to be the next governor of Ekiti. This is why we must pray fervently for God to crown our efforts”
Reacting to the suggestion, the state coordinator of the group, Mr. Adesuyi Alex, and the entire executive members of EGM applauded the initiative, and unanimously agreed to commence the rally by 10am on 12 June, 2018.
Further speaking, Mr. Alex encouraged all the 16 local government coordinators of EGM to mobilise all the members of the group in the state to the program to show their solidarity to governor Fayose and his deputy on 12th of June.
The program will, however, feature some eminent personalities and clergymen including His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose; Prof. Kolapo Olusola, the incoming governor and his deputy, Hon. Kazeem Ayodeji; Her Excellency, the first lady, Feyisetan Fayose; Pastor (Dr.) Olusola Seyi JP; S.A. Religious Matters, Fahdilat Sheikh and Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere Bello, President League of Imam and Alfas Yoruba, Edo and Delta.
The exercise would kick-start from Ijigbo to Okeyinmi, Okesa and KOCO pavilion respectively.
