A Nigerian lawyer based in the United Kingdom has alleged that the former Senate president is being treated harshly and may die in prison.
The lawyer who spoke under condition of anonymity said the UK court is detaining Ike Ekweremadu because it believes the Nigerian lawmaker will jump bail if he is released.
According to the lawyer, Ekweremadu’s health is deteriorating even as his alleged offence is bailable.
