It was a sweet debut for newly acquired Nigeria international duo of Emeka Chinonso and Adewale Oladoye in the colour of KAA Gent as they helped the club to a 4-1 win over KV Oostende.
It was a practice match organised among the Belgian clubs for players that didn’t travel for International duties for their various countries.
The Flying Eagles and Water FC stars switched to the Belgian Jupiler League side last weekend and they made their acquisition count almost immediately.
Oostende took the lead early before half-time thanks to Gueye, but Gent turned that deficit into a 1-2 lead before the break. After the break, a strongly rejuvenated Gent survived and further expanded its lead.
The host was pressing for an equalizer but the introduction of Oladoye in the 60th minutes for Belgian international, Van Daele, further pegged them back.
Tissoudali made it 3-1 for Gent in the 72nd minute before Chinonso was substituted in 76th minutes. He assisted the 4th goal later in the game as Gent recorded an emphatic win with both players giving a good account of themselves.
