There was a drama in Nenwe Community, Enugu State, after a father accused of having an incestuous affair with his daughter and getting her pregnant was banished alongside the girl.

In a viral video, community members were seen parading the man and his daughter out of the community with palm fronds tied around their necks to shame them.

The community described the act as a taboo and anyone found guilty will be banished.

The daughter, carrying a backpack, was seen wiping tears from eyes as villagers led them away.

“We’re banishing you today, not because it brings us joy, but because what you’ve done is an abomination”, an elderly man was heard telling them.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning the decision to banish the daughter alongside her father, insisting she is a victim of abuse who needs protection and support, not punishment.
