The Enugu State APC stakeholders have held a meeting to deliberate on the state of the nation and that of Enugu State in particular in relation to the performance of the All Progressives Congress both at the national as well as the state levels.

Attendees expressed satisfaction about the President’s economic reforms which they said was already yielding positive results and declared their support for the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a communiqué Issued at the conclusion of the Stakeholders Meeting on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the State Secretariat, No. 49A Bishop Onyeabor Street, GRA Enugu, the group agreed as follows:

  1. The APC stakeholders of Enugu State convened to assess the party’s and the nation’s current situation. The assembly extended heartfelt felicitations to H.E. Sen Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, President, and Commander-In-Chief of the Arm Forces of the Federal Republic
of Nigeria, on his 72nd birthday, noting the auspicious alignment with Good Friday and the Holy month of Ramadan. The President’s desire for a solemn and reflective birthday, in keeping with these significant religious observances, was commended and upheld by the stakeholders.
  2. The stakeholders lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating economic reforms, particularly acknowledging the gradual stabilization of foreign exchange. They likened the current economic challenges to the pains of childbirth, which ultimately lead to joy, echoing the President’s analogy and urging patience amongst Nigerians.
  3. A unanimous vote of confidence was passed on the State Executive Committee (SEC), led by the State Chairman of the APC, The Hon. Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah, and the Leader of the Party in Enugu State, Chief Uche Nnaji, Nwakaibie, the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology. Their leadership was credited for the strategic enhancement of the party’s position within the state. The meeting served as a platform to reaffirm that the party at the state level is united with no factional divisions.
  4. The stakeholders expressed admiration for the innovative strides and impactful leadership of the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, recognizing his contributions, particularly in facilitating the employment of youths. They encouraged the Minister to continue his efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state and the nation.
  5. The stakeholders unanimously and vigorously support the leadership of the APC in Enugu State in their resolute commitment to hold all state public office holders accountable, particularly those appointed into federal positions through the state’s nomination. The party emphasizes that the vociferous media controversy led by certain misinformed and dissatisfied individuals is the result of a call for greater accountability. In light of this, the stakeholders openly request Mrs. Ginika Tor, Enugu State’s representative at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), to disclose the list of employment placements she has secured over the past four years. It is with regret that the stakeholders note the absenteeism of allocated employment positions, which are constitutional entitlements of Enugu State natives, not mere privileges. The party leadership is appalled by circulating accusations that employment slots designated for Enugu are being illicitly sold or allocated to individuals from Abia and Benue States, an act that defies the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s constitution and the foundational laws of the Federal Character Commission that advocate equal employment chances for all states.
  6. The stakeholders congratulated Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, for his appointment as the South East APC coordinator, commending his preeminent leadership within the zone.
  7. Furthermore, the stakeholders cordially and enthusiastically welcomed new members into the party, a group that includes, but is not limited to:
    i. Sen. Chuka Utazi, the former Senator representing Enugu North, along with other dignitaries who joined alongside him, including former elected Council Chairmen from the LGAs within the Enugu North Senatorial zone.
ii. Amb. Akuabata Fidelia Njeze, former Minister of Aviation, former Minister of Defence, and former Ambassador to Switzerland, accompanied by her cohort of supporters.

    iv. Ambassador Jonathan Eze.
    v. Chief Goddy Jinegwo, a prominent and esteemed businessman.
    vi. Barr. Mrs. Ada Odeh.
    vii. Barrister Umunna Ugwu.
  8. Gratitude was extended to the National Deputy Chairman North, Alhaji Ali Dalori, for heeding the stakeholders’ resolution to dissociate from Mr. Ben Nwoye, whose conduct during the 2023 elections was contrary to the party’s values and goals.
  9. Chief Emma Eneukwu, the National Deputy Chairman South, was commended for his unwavering service and dedication to the party.
  10. The stakeholders applauded Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, the National Vice Chairman South East, for his enthusiastic and undeniable support for the success of the APC in Enugu State, marking his presence at the pivotal meeting.
  11. The stakeholders announced the party’s readiness to welcome new members and possibly reintegrate those previously suspended or expelled, contingent on sincere repentance and abandonment of sabotage instincts, fifth columnism, anti-party acts, and all divisive actions.
