The Administration of President Bola Tinubu Opens Portal for N10million staff support for academic and non- academic staff of Tertiary institutions
Presidential initiative on Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund, TISSF launched this week is described as another testament to President Tinubu’s vision of progressive investment in the Development of Education in Nigeria.
Information captured by 9News Nigeria has it that the Application Portal officially opened Thursday, 14, August , 2025 via.. (tissf.education.gov.ng).
In this therefore the Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa thanked the President for his approval of TISSF and every other Education related policies of the renewned Hope Agenda anchored by President Tinubu’s administration.
The TISSF is a strategic welfare initiative designed to enhance tertiary institution staff, support professional development and promote financial independence. In this manner it will support, interest free loan of 10 million naira max made available with a maximum repayment period of 5 years and a one-year moratorium.
Staff Beneficiaries of the fund are expected to use it to meet since needs as Transportation, small scale Agro business initiatives, medical expenses, family support accommodation and academic advancement.
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa asserts that the TISSF is another evidence of Renewed Hope in action. A demonstration of President Tinubu’s Commitment to Education and support for its component parts.
Just like the student oriented NELFUND, an initiative which is already a run away success by the Tinubu led Administration, the TISSF comes in as a timely and much needed support intervention for University, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education Staff, academic and non-academic.
The Tertiary institution staff support fund is a key component of the National Education Sector Renewal Implementation, NESRI, framework championed by the Education Minister. The Minister has set up guard rails and a robust monitoring template to ensure smooth implementation.
Reacting to this development, some staff interviewed by 9News Nigeria stated that this is a commendable and visionary step taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards uplifting the education sector.
“The launch of the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) not only reflects his unwavering commitment to the welfare of academic and non-academic staff, but also strengthens the foundation for a more vibrant, motivated, and productive education workforce.
“Such initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda truly demonstrate that this administration values both human capital development and national progress.
