The Federal Government will commence the implementation of its 90,000-kilometre nationwide fibre-optic network project in October.
This was announced by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.
Tijani said the project is aimed at expanding Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and improving access to high-speed internet connectivity across the country.
According to the minister, the nationwide fibre-optic network will strengthen broadband infrastructure, support digital services and create greater opportunities for businesses, individuals and other sectors of the economy.
He said the project forms part of the Federal Government’s broader efforts to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation and ensure wider access to reliable and affordable internet services.
