
Tragedy struck part of Adamawa State as devastating floods swept through Shagari and Yolde-Pate communities in Yola-South Local Government Area, leaving two people dead and several properties destroyed.
The disaster followed a torrential rainfall that lasted over 10 hours, submerging homes, washing away farmlands, and displacing scores of residents.
In a response to the incident, Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapha Farauta paid a visit to the affected areas to commiserate with victims and asses the extent of the damage, assuring the communities of state government’s support and prompt intervention.
Emergency agencies have since been alerted, while local volunteers, community leaders are coordinating temporary efforts for the displaced.
