Team Gombe has won the highest number of medals at the second Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN) North East regional open championship.
The team won three gold, silver and bronze medals in the competition.
Hosted in Borno State’s capital, Maiduguri, the two days competition, which ended yesterday Sunday, was held at NUGA hall, University of Maiduguri.
Tagged “Karate for Peace” the competition has athletes drawn from three states of Borno, Gombe and Yobe States.
