
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State is set to embark on another period of medical leave starting Wednesday, as a continuation of his ongoing treatment.
This information was conveyed in a statement released by Mr. Richard Olatunde, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Akeredolu, on Tuesday in Akure.
According to the statement, Governor Akeredolu will prioritize his health and ensure a complete recovery before resuming his official duties.
“A formal letter concerning the medical leave and a notice officially transferring power in accordance with the Nigerian Constitution will be sent to the House of Assembly.
“During Governor Akeredolu’s absence, the responsibilities of the Governor will be assumed by Deputy Governor Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa in an acting capacity.
Governor Akeredolu expresses his gratitude for the unwavering support and affection of the people of Ondo State. He assures them that his administration remains dedicated to advancing progress and prosperity for the people.
9News Nigeria has learned that Governor Akeredolu has written a letter to the State House of Assembly, informing them of his need for a medical leave lasting 21 working days due to his health condition.
It has been reported that Governor Akeredolu will be traveling to Germany for further medical treatment during this period. This decision has been made in order to ensure that he receives the necessary care and attention required for his well-being.
