Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, received the Nasarawa Amazons at the Government House in Lafia on Friday.
The team recently won the 2026 Women President Federation Cup in Asaba, Delta State.
The Governor praised the players, coaches, and management for their hard work and dedication.
He said their commitment helped them win the title.
He also commended the Nasarawa State FA Chairman, Salisu Galadima, for his strong support for football in the state.
To celebrate the victory, Governor Sule announced cash rewards for the teams and supporters.
He gave ₦25 million to the Nasarawa Amazons for winning the cup.
Nasarawa United FC and their feeder team each received ₦10 million.
FC Basira also got ₦10 million in recognition of its role in developing football in the state.
The Nasarawa Amazons Supporters Club was given ₦5 million to appreciate their encouragement.
The Governor also donated two brand-new 38-seater buses.
One bus went to Nasarawa Amazons and the other to Nasarawa United FC to help with their transportation needs.
He said the gesture shows that his government remains committed to growing sports and keeping Nasarawa State as one of Nigeria’s leading football hubs.
