An active socio-political support group in Imo state under the aegis of ‘Charter of Equity Support Group’ has thrown more weight to the re-election bid of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Showcasing their supporters at the just concluded political campaign rally in Owerri West, the group stated that Imo people are not leaving any stone unturned to propagate the campaign for Imo Charter of Equity as embedded into law by the Imo state Assembly.
The initiator of the group, Ambassador Princely Onyenwe told Owerri West voters that the business of governance should be an all inclusive one and that the sure way to Imo prosperity is the sincere application of Imo Charter of Equity to work.
He added that Imo Governorship candidates have to allow the second term bid of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma of All Progressives Congress APC party to transfer power to Owerri zone and Okigwe zone accordingly after his second term in office.
The group therefore beckoned on the people of Owerri West to come out en-masse and vote Governor Hope Uzodinma and his female running mate Lady Chinyere Ekomaru. Hopefully, the Charter of Equity in Imo state will favour every Imolite and will put to stop dominance of Governorship slot for a particular group, individual, affiliate camps or political zone.
Charter Of Equity group told the women to rally round the re-election bid and support a woman Deputy Governorship candidate under the APC political platform to have an affirmative quota of women’s inclusivity into governance.
The Supreme Leader of the group, Ambassador Onyenwe told the people that since a fomer deputy Governor Her Excellency Lady Okwuonu left office, Imo women have not been included into governance until Governor Hope Uzodinma assumed office and began to change the old narrative.
Lady Ekomaru will therefore be a fast booster to the projected victory election for the All Progressives Congress. To get this done is to go all out on the day of Imo state Governorship Election and cast our votes for APC.
Imo women are holding several government positions and the emergence of Lady Chinyere Ekomaru as Deputy Governor will give the women a sure way test to contribute to the development of Imo state, Ambassador Onyenwe stated.
The group has therefore called on other states in Nigeria to give approval for the affirmative quota of both the women and the Youths into governance to make a balance in efforts to reshaping a proper legislation and administration across boards, ministries and parastatal organizations.
Recall that Governor Hope Uzodinma has made a legacy record in this timeline by accepting a female running mate and bringing the youths of Imo state into his administration. This is verifiable and factual using the crops of appiontees and Honourable Members as a case study.
Charter of Equity group has therefore called on other contenders in the Guber Election to understand this fact as embedded into the constitution of Imo Equity and support for Uzodinma’s re-election bid via the Governorship election coming up on 11-11-2023. Uzodinma should be re-elected to develop the state.
However, the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma is expected to bring more development across the zones, to work on Imo roads, to bring more business development, infrastructural advancement and technological innovations in the state.
Importantly, Governor Uzodinma’s 3R policy captured good administration to reduce insecurity and hunger in the land and expectedly to abide by the Charter to hand over power to an Owerri zone Governor after his second term. It is also important to allow the mantle rotate as scheduled.
Uzodinma’s administration will be remembered of bringing to the state, the first ever seaport when completed as planned. Such enviable project among others need a second term frame to be achieved and completed.
The Charter Of Equity Group however thanked the people of Nekede and the APC family for their massive turn out in solidarity for the re-election bid while charging all other political parties to collapse and vote en-masse Governor Hope Uzodinma.
