A notable charity organization in Anambra state Nigeria, GODWIN AND PATRICIA OKEKE FOUNDATION, is set to be donating a total sum of N30 million to 1,000 beneficiaries.
Speaking with our correspondent, Hon. (Mrs) Chinyelu Hope Nwandu, Widows Coordinator for Godwin and Patricia Okeke Foundation maintained that the director of GUO transport company is kindhearted and generous in humanitarian services.
The Nigerian transport guru, Chief Dr. (Sir) Godwin Ubaka Okeke (GUO) and Lady Patricia Okeke, through their foundation, named GODWIN AND PATRICIA OKEKE FOUNDATION, said they will be donating a total sum of N30 million to 1,000 beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries, comprising widows, orphans, blind students, and deaf and dumb students, will each receive N30,000.
This charitable gesture coincides with the couple’s milestone birthdays – Lady Patricia Okeke’s 70th and Chief GUO’s 75th.
Information reaching our News desk has it that the foundation has extended invitations to various churches to key into this wonderful gesture.
Our correspondent reports that some including St. Monica Anglican Church, Fegge, St. Jude Catholic Church, Fegge, Onitsha, and all churches in Adazi Ani, including pentecostal churches.
In addition to the cash donations, the foundation will also be commissioning two projects built for the Deaf and Dumb Central School, Odakpu, Onitsha, Anambra State.
The projects include a two-story hostel building and a one-story classroom block to be given out to empower the needy.
In summary, the couple emphasized the importance of supporting the less privileged in our society while charging fellow Nigerians to engage in such a selfless act to extend kindness and generosity Inline with the biblical order.
Hopefully, the empowerment will take a good precedence to be facilitated by the foundation. This is commendable.
