Nigerian footballer, Harrison Chinedu, who on Sunday, November 20, once again wrote Nigeria’s name bold in the Guinness Book of World Records after making a distance travel of 103.06km (64 miles) riding a Bicycle with a football balanced on his head, says he gets his inspiration from God.
Prior to Sunday’s feat, Chinedu had on March 6, 2016 entered the Guinness Book of World Records after he became the first man on earth to walk the farthest distance of 48.08km in 6 hours, 15 minutes with a football balanced on his head.
The Imo state-born footballer’s latest record making feat which was bankrolled by Gaming Company, Bet9ja took off from La Campaigne Tropicana, Ibeju Lekki through to Ajah, down to Ozurumba Mbadiwe then to CMS before linking Eko bridge to connect Costain and ending it at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos to become the first man ever in the World to travel a distance 100km, riding bicycle with a football balanced on the head.
Though, Chinedu ended the ride at 103.06km, at 5km he had already created a Guinness record going by the standard set by the adjudicators of the Guinness Book of World Records. “I feel great because this particular record was created by me so I’m very, very grateful to have set my own record not broken another person’s record as I did on the 6th of Match, 2016. This record was created by me and I’m happy that I’ve done my own side and it’s left for the Guinness World Records to ratify it and bring back the result.
“My secret is God. I’ve always been saying that; my song says protect your talent by knowing God that’s always my secret through Christ our Lord.
“No time I felt I couldn’t make it but there was a time it was tough controlling the wind, mostly at the Eko Bridge but I controlled it and went on to achieve my dream,” he said.
“Also I want to use this opportunity to appreciate Bet9ja for their support in making it possible “ added the former FC Arugo of Owerri and Cambodia-based footballer.
