Heartland Fiber Optic Company Limited is set to kickstart operation in Imo state Nigeria as established by the Imo state government on Thursday 14-07-2022.

9News Nigeria reports that the inauguration of its board of directors was done by his Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma at the Government House Owerri.

While inaugurating the BOT, Governor Uzodinma stated that in response to the revenue growth plan and economic prosperity agenda, he has officially inaugurated board of directors for the Heartland Fiber Optic Company Limited to set up their policy plan to help improve the economy of Imo state through fiber.

In furtherance, this Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the Heartland Consortium would complement existing policies on ease of doing business by providing high speed broadband infrastructure under the umbrella of Imo State Unified Fiber Duct Installation Project.

It’s expected that this would translate into economic growth, job creation for our teeming youths through the web-based business opportunities and an improved digital economy thereby paving way for our foreign direct investment portfolio.

But Imolites are asking when will such a company be fully operational to the benefits of all Imolites. They however criticized government continous inauguration of board members of various capacities without the state seeing its practical implementation of deserving policies to actually improve the state.

A call in the right direction therefore is for the government to charge the newly created state Unified Fiber Duct Installation company to commence work and employ Imo youths to reduce restiveness and joblessness bedevilling the state.
