Ebonyi Ambassadors Movement (EBAM) Anambra State Chapter, a social economic and political organisation advancing the welfare of Ebonyians has panegyrised Sen. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, The Senator Representing Anambra South Senatorial Zone over his motion on the arbitrary rise of shipping cost into Nigeria.

In a press statement made by Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, National President, Amb Collins Igwe, Director of Finance, planning and strategy and Comr. Prince Ominyi, the Publicity Secretary, Ebonyi Ambassadors Movement highlighted that the motion of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah has a direct connection to Ndigbo in general and Ebonyi Entrepreneurs and Business moguls in particular.

The group revealed that Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah is directly in touch with the masses and knows the needy of the populace as his motion which resulted to the subsequent move by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Lagos to meet with the executive arm of the Government in a bid to find a lasting solution towards ameliorating the plight of Ndigbo who are essentially known for trading and importation.

In a statement credited to the Senator, he maintained that “with the visit and subsequent engagements with relevant authorities, it is highly expected that it will go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of our importers who are majorly igbo bussiness sons and daughters,as importers will soon smile to the banks as the effect of the anticipated reduction in shipping costs will go a long way in boosting their businesses and promoting the Nigerian economy. Going forward this move by the Senate will also benefit Ndigbo who are mostly traders”,

“Present at the meeting with the Senate delegation are representatives of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) the Assistant General Manager (Operations), Engr. Ibrahim Y. Anji, the Executive Director (Marine & Operations) Hon. Onari Brown, and the General Manager (Monitoring & Regulatory Services) Ugo Esther Madubuike. Also present were representatives of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) led by its Director General/Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bashir Jamoh, NIMASA’s Executive Director (Administration & Finance) Chudi Offodile and its Executive Director (Cabotage Services & Maritime Labour) Engr. Victor O. Ochei Esq”.
