Hoodlums suspected to be political thugs on Wednesday burnt a block of classrooms built by the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, as part of his constituency project in Sarkin Noma, Lokoja.

Apart from the Government Girls Secondary School that was raised by the arsonists, another school, located in Lokongoma area of the state capital was also vandalised.

The thugs had on Tuesday issued a statement warning the senator against coming for the inauguration of the schools, threatening that there would be violence if Melaye insists on coming.
However residents of the areas where the two schools that were billed for inauguration on Wednesday woke up to meet completely raised and vandalised schools.
