Imo state has been unfortunate on the succession of governors that have retard the progress of government than to improve the state.
It is highly shameful to have confirmed the recent dilapidations at Imo state house of Assembly which has led to the relocation of house members and workers to Ikemba Ojukwu connvention center built by the former Governor Rochas Okorocha.
From investigation, history has it that in the days of Former governor Ndubisi Kalu Imo state was geographical planned and established by Former governor Sam Mbakwe while governors Achike Udenwa, Ikedi Ohakim, Owelle Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha did there possible best to set their legacies.
Such legacies are too numerous to mention but the people of the state are disappointed of the level of slow developments these sets of governors have brought to the state.
On a chat with 9News Nigeria,workers at the complex who proved unanimous, attached to Imo House of Assembly revealed the reasons behind their escape from the complex since efforts to renovate the complex failed.
The source has it that since the inception of Governor Uzodinma the beauty of civil service has collapsed. “It was the ousted governor Ihedioha that had good plans to revive civil service hence he served as a career administrator while hoping to see what the present government will showcase to salvage state. He added that the condition of roads, non regular payment of pensioners cum workers salary coupled with high prone of insecurity in the streets in Imo state are critical challenges to uzodinma.
The source further revealed that lateness has returned to the civil service since no proper check and steady salary cum allowances are paid regularly.
Speaking on the about- to -collapse House of Assemble complex, the source has it that, fmr governor Okorocha’s standard of renovation work all over the state in his tenure has affected the quake in the complex.
The pictures above can testify the equipments brought by Ihedioha to work on the complex before he was sacked and the recent state of Imo House of Assembly Complex which is the major reason workers and even the honourable members have taken to their heals to Ikemba Ojukwu Convention Center, opp Heroes Square which serves as another edifice that represents Former Governor Rochas Okorocha.
Majority of the workers can confirm the statements as true and evidential as at the time of this investigative report by 9News Nigeria.
Imo people have continued to show regret over ill governance in the state pending when the present Uzodinma’s regime will stop accusing previous governors and rise up to salvage the state.
Regrettedly, the present state of Imo House of Assembly complex and the laxity on duty by Imo workers is a great disappointment to the entire Imo state.
Though this relocation could be temporal,the building has to be reinforced immediately otherwise it will surely collapse completely.
