Humanitarian activist and human resources development crusader, Prince Charles Okongwu has appealed to the government and good citizens of Nigeria to fast-track the immediate release and rescue of the missing kidnapped NYSC Corpers without further delay.

In a press letter released to 9News Nigeria, Prince Charles Okongwu said “I am grieving for the ten kidnapped  Nigerian Youth Service members who were kidnapped months ago in Zamfara en route from Calabar, Akwa Ibom state to Sokoto for their national duty. “

They were posted there to make their national sacrifice but are now abandoned by the Nigerian government and its agencies NYSC, as captives to the criminal elements operating with the branded name of “Bandits’ or Unknown gunmen.

The vice president said the other day that Nigerians should try and live a life of scarification on current economic hardship troubling Nigerians.

I am urging Nigerian citizens not to be part of the conspiracy of silence as regards an urgent need to rescue those kidnapped children Corpers who have devoted themselves to serving their country first after education.

And we are just wishing them away to the criminals that which Nigerian government has refused to fight out or identify and name.

How do you expect such children to love Nigeria again in their lifetime ever again?  I am urging Nigerians to hold NYSC and the Federal Government accountable for whatever might happen to these children while in captivity.

NYSC is completely aware of every terrible, horrible and horrific insecurity we are currently having in moving from one point of location to another in this country and the “NYSC”  keeps endangering our poor children with such suicidal policies of movement.

Why is NYSC keeping quiet since this incident happened?  Why hasn’t the office issued any press statement about the adoption and her plans for rescue? Has NYSC reached out to the families of those children?

I am aware that even when a youth member complains of some security threat on his choice of placement for a repost. , such request is always denied.

NYSC will insist that such students must take such suicidal tasks against their wishes. Why?  Why are they hiding.?

We need to hear them out now..or I am calling on a total stoppage and cancellation of that policy because it can not work now over the current insecurities.

All states should host their graduating students to avoid this frustrating damage to some parents’ egos after hopeful training of their children to the waiting hands of criminals!

INEC has recently indicated that insecurities might be her problems come November. Why can’t NYSC read the handwriting on the wall and stop trading and treating the lives of our beloved children since our government can’t stop Bandits’ criminalities in northern Nigeria?

My major worry is that these so-called Bandits’ have no notable defined request of proposal. Only to kill and kidnap and demand ransoms.

All Nigerians should raise and call for an immediate release of those adopted NYSC members now.

All our Media houses should now speak out for the immediate release and freedom of those kidnapped children of NYSC.

Does the vice president want them to sacrifice their lives before anything could be done? The president should address the nation over those children’s captivity. It is a national calamity.

All the churches, Muslims. Bishops, pastors, labour Congress, NGOs and all humanitarian services, and international communities should help and rescue those children before the matter is flushed under the carpet as Nigerians’ usual system.

I am heartbroken for the children and the families such evil has fallen on. My God help us in Nigeria.
