The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has cautioned his congregation against marrying individuals from other churches, emphasizing the importance of intra-ministry unions.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Apostle Suleman declared that he would no longer attend the weddings of members who choose spouses from outside the Church.
Highlighting the advantage of marrying within the ministry, he noted that many eligible women were already part of the congregation.
In a viral video online, Suleman stated, “If you wed somebody outside the ministry, I will not attend the wedding because there’s a lot of daughters in this Church and you are looking outside.
“The wedding will be conducted. They will wed you, but I will not come”.
The cleric also revealed that most of the marital crisis he has recently intervened in were linked to unions with individuals from outside the Church.
According to him, 70% of the crisis I have handled in the past two months is from people that married the girls from outside here”.
The statement has sparked diverse reactions online, with some supporting his stance on fostering unity within the Church and others criticizing it as restrictive.
