A passenger, identified as Ms Comfort Emanson, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting Ibom Air crew members and security personnel on a flight from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday.
A viral video shows passenger Comfort Emanson being restrained and removed from the aircraft by airport security staff at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammad Airport.
The incident occurred on a Uyo-Lagos flight when Emmanson refused to switch off her phone before takeoff, despite repeated instructions from the crew as she bluntly refused to comply until Pilot-in-Command made an announcement, after fellow passenger seater beside her took the phone and switched it off.
Emmanson’s behavior escalated into verbal outburst, but the situation was temporarily calmed, allowing the flight to depart as scheduled.
Upon arrival in Lagos, Emmnanson waited for all the passengers to disembark and then proceeded to confront the Purser, who had earlier instructed her, stepping on her, tearing off her wig, removing her glasses, and slapping her multiple times.

Another crew members who also tried to intervene was also slapped.
Emmanson attempted to remove a fire extinguisher, potentially to use as a weapon, which could have caused serious damage to the aircraft.
Airport security arrived, and Emmanson was restrained and removed from the aircraft after continuing her assault on security personnel and staff.
Ibom Air has permanently banned Emmanson from flying with them and reported the incident to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Emmanson was handed to the Nigeria Police for further investigation.
