Ms Comfort Emmanson, the passenger who assaulted the airline officials on an Ibom Air flight inbound Lagos from Uyo, has reportedly been charged to court.
Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, confirmed her remand, said Emmanson is remanded in Kirikiri Correctional facility, the incident sparked outrage and renewed accusations and bias in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Many have compared her treatment to that of Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde, a close friend of President Bola Tinubu, who was accused of pouring water on a pilot and blocking a Value Jet aircraft from departing.
Ayinde reportedly faced no detention and was ‘begged’ and walked freely.
However, public reaction has been swift with calls for justice and equal treatment under the law the law gaining momentum across social media.
