Ignore defectors, they can’t deliver their polling units – Benue APC tells members

Benue State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to the mass exodus that hit the party Tuesday afternoon over the defection of 15 senators and 35 members of the House of Representatives on its platform

State chairman of the party, Comrade Abba Yaro while speaking to journalists in Makurdi said without much narratives, their mass exodus was a welcome development as the ruling party was relieved of their detestable deficiencies and anti-party activities dragging the APC backward.

Yaro said most of the senators and members of the House of Reps that defected from the APC to other parties were not only ungrateful but deceptive, stressing that “the decampees foresaw their irrelevance in the party and have been pushed away by divinity to pave the way for men and women of honour that would embrace the people-oriented manifestoes of the ruling APC.”

Yaro stated that the greatest problem in “the Nigerian politics is that party affiliation is not based on principles or ideology but on conspiracy by few persons to capture power for individual enrichment, adding that the decampees are fortune seekers who never provided their constituents the impact of good governance.”

He declared that “the APC will win these decampees in their homes and polling units if election is held today. He said only President Muhammadu Buhari’s and the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s defection from the party can have copious effect on the party.”
