The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has approved the removal of Ebonyi State from Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra State to Zone 9, Umuahia on first September 2020 by 12:30 pm.
Recall that the governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, FNSE, FNATE had on 14th August, 2020, while inaugurating Ebonyi State community policing advisory committees, pleaded with the Inspector General of Police to kindly remove the state from the newly created zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra state to Umuahia, majorly on the ground of the proximity and safety of Ebonyians.
Two weeks and 3 days, down the line, the IGP granted the request of the Governor.
The Governor thanks IGP for his quick response, while noting his commitment in the security of lives and property of Ebonyians and beyond.
